My love of art was established early on. I come from a family who has a history of artistic painting and crafting. When my sister and I were little my mother and grandmother were always teaching us how to make something fun out of all kinds of materials. We learned to do toll painting on wood or any object that would accept paint. We also learned how to sew properly so we could make clothes that we liked but couldn't afford. We were taught to crochet but instead of doing that myself I loved watching my grandmother make wonderful afghans. I dabbled in painting over the years not really getting serious about it until a few years ago when I decided to take a paint class and fell in love with it. I never had any formal training so it was a challenge to get the paint on the canvas to look like the image I was copying. I especially love painting wildlife which was a learning process because of all the fur and feathers. Whatever I do now in either acrylic or oil I find that I just love to paint.
